Job Description

Overview Expedia Group is seeking an accounting professional to join a dynamic team with one of the World’s leading travel companies. Location: Springfield, MO (in-office at least three days a week). Base pay $51,500.00/yr - $82,500.00/yr Responsibilities Accounting and analyzing for transactions arising from various consumer payment methods (credit cards, installments, gift cards, points, etc.). Support projects related to consumer payment methods that promote company growth. Reconcile cash receipt transactions based on external reporting from payment processors and internal reporting. Support quarterly and annual audits for SEC filings and other ad-hoc audits. Prepare month-end close journal entries and account reconciliations. Perform ad-hoc analyses to assist business partners with research on unusual transactions. Prepare auditor PBC requests for quarterly review, year-end audit, and SOX. Perform User Acceptance Testing to ensure newly implemented accounting processes are effective. Collaborate with Systems Team to enhance accounting tools. Work with Payment Operations to ensure payment processor files are properly reported. Reconciling cash receipt transactions for completeness and accuracy. Qualifications Strong communication skills, written and verbal. Ability to articulate complex processes to diverse audiences. Analytical thinking to solve non-recurring and complex issues. Commitment to continuous process improvements and streamlining processes. Ability to establish and maintain cross-functional networks outside the immediate group for strong customer focus. Excellent organizational and time management skills; able to meet deadlines and prioritize workload. Understanding of US GAAP; apply to accounting processes. Flexibility in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, functions) and ability to work with large data sets. BA or BS in Finance or Accounting required; CPA preferred. At least 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a large growth-oriented international organization. VBA and/or MS Access experience is preferred. Locations and travel Please note: This role is in Springfield, MO in alignment with our flexible work model requiring in-office presence at least three days per week.
