Job Description
Position Summary:
The Plumber/HVAC Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of plumbing, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems throughout the property or facility. This role ensures all systems operate efficiently, safely, and in compliance with building codes and company standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems including water supply lines, waste disposal systems, and fixtures.
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on HVAC systems, including air handlers, condensers, heat pumps, furnaces, and thermostats.
Diagnose and repair leaks, clogs, and mechanical failures in plumbing and HVAC systems.
Conduct preventive maintenance and inspections per established schedules.
Replace or repair piping, valves, fittings, and pumps as needed.
Monitor inventory of parts, supplies, and tools; report shortages.
Maintain accurate maintenance logs and service records.
Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and safety standards.
Provide emergency on-call support as required.
Collaborate with other maintenance staff and vendors for complex repairs or installations.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in plumbing and HVAC maintenance, preferably in a residential or commercial property setting.
Strong knowledge of plumbing codes, HVAC systems, and refrigeration principles.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Physically able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
EPA 608 Certification (Universal preferred).
HVAC Technician License (as required by state).
Plumber’s License (Journeyman or Master, depending on state requirements).
OSHA 10 or 30-Hour Certification preferred.
Backflow Prevention Certification a plus.
Experience with energy management systems and smart thermostats.
Familiarity with property management software or maintenance work order systems.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills a plus.
Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions, mechanical parts, and moderate noise.
May require evenings, weekends, and emergency on-call hours.
