Office Assistant

Location: Garland, TX (Onsite – Not Remote)

Employment Type: Long-Term Contract (Potential to Convert to Permanent)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)

Pay Rate: $17.00–$18.50 per hour

Overview

Wheeler Staffing Partners is seeking an Office Assistant for an onsite position in Garland, TX . This long-term contract opportunity offers the chance to gain valuable office experience and grow within a supportive team environment. The ideal candidate is organized, eager to learn, and comfortable supporting a busy Inside Sales department while occasionally managing front desk and receptionist duties.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and clerical support to the Inside Sales team.
• Track the status of requisitions, contracts, and customer orders.
• Answer incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate team member.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, pricing, and availability.
• Review and distribute work orders to the appropriate departments.
• Assist with preparing pricing and customer quotes as needed.
• Compile and maintain records for purchase orders, invoices, and customer files.
• Support sales staff in preparing sales contracts and processing order entries.
• Perform data entry and maintain accurate documentation.
• Perform additional administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ year of administrative or clerical experience preferred; recent graduates encouraged to apply.
• Basic computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
